And then it just struck me; how the hell has the Wario series survived oblivion for the last ten or so years?

 

Wario World kind of failed sales wise.  Master of Disguise failed.  Wario Land Shake It barely sold a million copies, the last few WarioWare games haven't sold quite as well (DIY may have failed to crack a million copies worldwide) and Game and Wario did terribly in Japan so far...

 

I'm kind of surprised Nintendo hasn't shuttered the series or anything yet.  Hell, if Starfy pretty much went down because of bad sales and Fire Emblem was nearly cancelled... yeah, it makes me a tad worried that this fairly niche series has somehow survived all this...

 

So yes, is anyone else a bit worried the Wario series could be in real trouble if Game and Wario doesn't sell outside Japan?  And that Nintendo's cancellation comments make me worry some of Nintendo's other underperforming series might get axed as well?
