I just remembered I have yet to see the game over screen on New Super Mario Bros. U. I saw it on purpose on Super Mario 3D Land though.

never saw the game over screen. even when i was attempting to beat the crown stage without a tanooki suit. when you have access to the infinite lives trick as early as the second stage, if you run out of lives, you either didn't know the trick, or are just plain terrible.

The above sig was made by Raith
Thanks!

I never died, but some poorly skilled gamer can still die.

You never died?? not even on special 8-crown?

You get a small bonus if you don't die a certain amount of times. It's kinda useless but still nice: shiny stars ![]()

I dont think I died once playing the whole way through, but if you lose all of your lives I would consider that failing.

I have always felt there is Succeeding and Not Succeeding... the only way to fail at something is to not try at all. I wouldn't count dying as a failure, per say, but more as "an unsuccessful attempt". I think the topic created, however, was meaning more as a question for "Isn't this game too easy?" I think his point was that you would have to purposely repeatedly kill off all of your lives in order to see the Game Over screen. I know that I, for one, gained at least three to five lives every level I did. Even when I missed that one secret in a dungeon and kept jumping into the fire trying to see if there was a secret wall there... there were always enough coins and a 1-up mushroom on the way back to that spot So that I was gaining an additional life every 3 or so attempts rather than losing lives.

Special thanks to Porkman for my awesome display pic!
